In her previous presentation, "Biblical Jerusalem," UBC Professor of Archaeology Lisa Cooper enlightened us on the history and importance of the great city of Jerusalem, not only to Christianity but also to Judaism and Islam.

She also highlighted the material culture of this great city from the time of David to his son Solomon, and Herod - up until its destruction by General Titus.

As a sequel to this, Lisa will offer a sermon on the rich culture and history of Jerusalem during the Islamic period, the time of the Crusades and right up until the most recent past.

Music of Hildegard von Bingen led by our Music Director, Dr. Emilia Boronco.

Dr. Lisa Cooper is a member of St. Helen's and Professor of Near Eastern Art and Archaeology, Dept. of Classical, Near Eastern and Religious Studies, University of British Columbia. Lisa and her husband Richard are key leaders of St. Helen's outreach to Syrian Refugees.
