Dear people of St. Helen’s,

We have good news from Bishop John, and from the provincial Public Health Officer. We already have permission to gather for worship on Sundays. Now, additionally, the church choir may sing, the congregation may sing, we may even have coffee hour!

We no longer have to sign-up for services, just arrive and take your seat. This brings us very much closer to the kind of worship that we long for and that we have missed for many, many months.

The bishop would like us to continue wearing masks during worship services, and to have some space between people on the same pew. I hope that these precautions will reassure you that the church is a safe place to be.

In other news, our beautiful Memorial Garden has just received a ‘makeover’ by Matthew Stacey our gardener. It had become overgrown and weedy during the pandemic while services were not allowed. Matthew has done a loving and caring job, and the space looks beautiful.

I look forward to seeing you in person, and of course, I am available by phone or email most days of the week. My usual days at the church are Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9 - 5, and I welcome any of you who would like to drop by. I will be away from July 15th to the 23rd; I’m going to Ontario to visit my mother and for a family gathering.

You are always in my prayers, and I am honoured and blessed to serve the parish of St. Helen’s.
